The socialist MP Eduard Shalsi has reacted about the amendments on the law on State Intelligence Service presented by Berisha Government. Shalsi has harshly criticized this initiative that also proposes a five years mandate for the head of this service, which is a clear attempt on the part of Sali Berisha to put this institution under control. According to MP Shalsi this is a very dangerous attempt that affects the problems related to the human right issues in the country and through which it is aimed to use this institution against the opposition and all them who are committed to highlight the corruption of the family in power. Further on the socialist deputy has declared that the opposition will not allow this to happen and if the government will not take into account the opposition objections regarding these amendments the restoring of the impartiality of this institution will become another condition for boycott interruption.
“Sali Berisha needs now a secret service to impede the opposition, which is against this arrogant and ignorant regime, to highlight the deeds of the misgoverning and greediness of the family in power.
We will never allow that the secret service becomes a hostage at the office of Sali as it has happened with the ballot boxes.
We call on the gentleman that rules Albania through grabbed votes to publicly withdraw this ominous plan that aims to attack the impartiality of the secret service. Otherwise, together with the opening of the ballot boxes, it will constitute another condition for the returning of the opposition in the parliament and an extra reason to proceed with our protest if the dialog will give the expected results.
